Production Supervisor

Under general supervision, the Production Supervisor oversees the daily activities of the department in order to safely and cost-effectively meets plant production & quality objectives. This requires both a focus on people leadership as well as full utilization of information, established reliable procedures and methods that impact the materials, machines and people in the work area. This position will report to the Plant Production Management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all company policies, safety rules and manufacturing policies are followed; administer counseling or disciplinary action if needed
• Determine work procedures, proper manning, needed overtime, assign duties and tasks to work team members to maximize productivity
• Maintain pre-set standards of good manufacturing processes and housekeeping standards
• Develop and maintain strong positive communication and working relations with all departments to maintain work team goals and company goals
• Keep management informed of developments as they occur
• Develop and implement cross training of work team personnel

Requirements

• Several years experience in manufacturing industry in supervisory positions
• Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to change
• Competitive and results (Quality and Quantity) oriented
• A hands-on, process oriented individual
• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Familiar with basic computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) and ability to learn additional business-related systems quickly
• Team-oriented
• ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 experience
• Familiar with WCB procedures and requirements
• Experience in LEAN manufacturing processes an asset
• Weekend work required
