BURNABY, BC – April 17, 2008 – Day4 Energy Inc. (TSX: DFE), a leading manufacturer of high performance, cost-effective solar electric modules, today announced that it has secured over 90,000 square feet of production space in Burnaby, British Columbia, to increase its manufacturing capacity to 90 MW by the end of 2008. The new facility will produce solar modules featuring Day4 Energy’s patented technology and will deliver products to customers and partners in the residential, commercial and utility markets in Europe and North America. The facility will host the latest generation of Day4 Energy’s proprietary equipment, as part of the company’s commitment to continually developing its in-house manufacturing operations. “The signing of this lease for our newest manufacturing line signifies that we are well underway to achieving our growth objectives for this year, namely aggressively expanding our production capacity to 90 MW in Q4 of 2008," said George Rubin, president and COO of Day4 Energy. "During the last 2 years we have successfully built a solid technology foundation and demonstrated an attention to detail in our product line and the underlying manufacturing process. Today, the advanced technology is ready for scale up and our sales & marketing efforts have created the base for rapid growth in our market presence on both sides of the Atlantic." The new facility will manufacture the highly efficient Day4 48 MC solar module based on the company’s proprietary Day4 Electrode technology. Building off of an innovative approach to module construction that directly replaces decades-old soldering methods, the Day4 Energy technology recently ranked highest in its class for power generating efficiency in a given area by third-party testing at Germany’s Albstadt-Sigmaringen University. The findings confirmed that the high-quality Day4 solar electric module offered advanced field performance and power density across a variety of test conditions. About Day4 EnergyHeadquartered near Vancouver, British Columbia, Day4 Energy Inc. designs, manufactures and sells photovoltaic (PV) modules based on its patented Day4 Electrode technology, a proprietary method of contacting and interconnecting solar cells.
