BURNABY, BC. Dr. John MacDonald, Chairman and CEO of Day4 Energy Inc., was inducted yesterday into The Business Laureates of BC Hall of Fame. The Business Hall of Fame was established to recognize leaders who have demonstrated a unique vision in achieving the highest level of business excellence, while contributing to the prosperity of British Columbia. 2006 Laureates were nominated by their peers and chosen by an independent Selection Committee, which included Jim Pattison, Sue Paish and Irving K. Barber. Dr. MacDonald and two other 2006 Laureates were welcomed to the Hall of Fame at a Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremony on May 18 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The citation for Dr. MacDonald reads: "Dr. John MacDonald, an outstanding professional engineer, educator and entrepreneur, has enhanced Canada's reputation in the realm of high technology as the founder of MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates, and currently as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Day4 Energy Inc. A leader in imaging technology, Dr. MacDonald has worked towards improving the policy environment within which industry and science work together".
