We are looking for an exceptional Corporate Controller to manage the Company’s international accounting and financial reporting functions.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the primary responsibilities of the Corporate Controller is to ensure accurate and timely financial records are maintained and in compliance with all external financial reporting, internal control standards and taxation requirements and obligations.
This position is instrumental for the continued success and growth of the Company. The right candidate will have the opportunity to obtain a broad range of experience working in a global publicly listed company, including involvement in the development and implementation of financial control and processes of new operations as the company grows.
Qualifications:
- CA or equivalent accounting designation with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in senior financial roles with supervisory experience
- Solid knowledge and work experience with IFRS and specific requirements for public companies
- Experience supervising the accounting function and ensuring proper maintenance of accounting books within an ERP system (preferably MS Dynamics NAV)
- Experience with preparing and filing corporate tax returns
- Experience with various regulatory compliance requirements applicable to public companies (eg. NI-52-109 – internal control disclosures, etc)
- Proven track record in process development and improvement
- Strong international reporting and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills with experience in dealing with senior management, auditing firms, tax authorities, clients and vendors
- Highly motivated self-starter and enjoy working in a team environment
- Manufacturing and project accounting experience will be an asset
- Preferably solid auditing experience with international exposure, with one of the big four auditing firms
- Strong and firm, non-authoritative leader with integrity, empathy, and high standards for self and others
